Description

Presented is a large 18 x 12 rare imperial cabinet photograph from 1902 featuring the Eastern League Champion Toronto Maple Leafs and rival team on a horse drawn wagon. The 1902 Toronto Maple Leafs are considered by most baseball historians to be among the best minor league teams of all-time compiling a record of 85 wins against 42 loses. The unique large imperial cabinet may be the only of its kind in existence and features several major league ball players and one Hall of Famer, Ed Barrow. The wood and steel stands are full of patrons eager to see the match between the two teams and the magnitude of the image is prevalent as you look at the size of the men against the six stallions pulling the cart. Framed to a size of 26 x 19 the matting has been molded with an arch so to focus the view to the grandeur of the image. Ed Barrow, the part owner/manager of the Maple Leafs and the architect of the NY Yankees in the 1920s, are standing second from the left in the foreground. The image is gorgeous and crystal clear with the slightest of tears in the lower center portion. If availability, content and condition are the keys to a great collectible then this treasure will endure forever as all three have been met and surpassed.
